@@Raphaelch93 I've been using Nuki locks for about a year and a half and the only issue I've had was actually an issue with a faulty cylinder

@@MarksTechVlogs which isn’t that helpful if I need the other mounting plate. There’s also a video on their official RUclips for an adjustment plate but no mention of where or how to get it. It’s all incredibly confusing. I just want to install the device.

I’d drop switchbot support a message as I’m sure they’ll send one out. I think they even have a WhatsApp support which they usually reply pretty quickly to

Nope, it doesn’t appear as a block in the home app like a bulb does but if you go to the room and look across the top where you see sensors you should see a smoke sensor

I was using it last night for a couple of hours and thanks to Octopus’ tracking it looks like it was only costing about 20p an hour but will keep checking as I use it this week some more!

I don’t know huge amounts about comparability but as long as you have space for a double din connector and can get the stereo wiring adapters then you should be able to use it with one

I can’t actually find a link to that stereo. Your best bet might be to look up the measurements of the Pioneer one I’ve linked in the description and see if the dimensions match the one you’re looking at

Probably not an ultion Nuki but I’d contact Nuki to see if it’s compatible…or even switchbot about their lock pro

I’m not sure if you can pair to multiple phones unless you have the app and same login on them but you can use it without the hub as long as you’re in Bluetooth range

as in the handle catches on the lock? That's interesting...I wonder if you can change the handle to one that sticks out more?

@@MarksTechVlogs yeah as the handle goes down, the box of the switchbot gets in the way. its probably has to be getting a new handle that has more of a gap between it and the door

At the moment no but the Aqara U200 which is now due out in July should be compatible and have Apple home key. I will be reviewing one as soon as it’s out

The simple answer is yes… The more complicated answer is that if your door is locked then unlocking from the home app will also do that little extra turn but if all you need to do is that little extra turn then you’ll need to use the Niki app…I usually trigger that open from a Niki widget on my home screen The ‘open’ feature has actually been added to Matter 1.2 so at some point for the 4th gen Nuki locks it should make it into the Apple Home app but I have no idea when Apple will add it!

@@MarksTechVlogs gotcha - I wonder whether this is what’s holding back Nuki from offering Apple homekey support :( So in the meantime, if I understand correctly, if my door is fully locked, say when I come back from work, the lock will Auto Unlock using Bluetooth. But if I nip out to the car and shit the door behind me I use the app like you say.

@@stugedwards Yes that's right, I think it's to do with how Apple verify Homekey and at the moment there's no retrofit Homekey lock available however, the Aqara U200 is due out in July and does have Homekey so whether that will open up the door for Nuki to implement it will be interesting to see

Hey, so HomeKit is Apple’s name for devices that work/appear in the Home app on your iPhone. If you get the Ultion Nuki Plus which has WiFi built in you don’t need anything else for out of home access but if you get the base model then you’ll need something like a HomePod Mini or Apple TV which will act as a hub so you have out of home access

The person who sold it to you should have reset it from their account. You may need to get in touch with them

I think that's the same as mine although mine only has one actual spindle but even if the door is unlocked from the outside I still need to put the key in and give it an extra turn for it to open from the outside, is that the same as yours? If so either the Nuki or Switchbot Lock Pro would work

You can get external keypads for both the Nuki and the Switchbot which go on the outside of your house

Yes, unfortunately they announced a couple of weeks ago they were filing for bankruptcy

The hard wiring is easy, you just need a small Philips screwdriver and the wires with the hard wire kit just wrap around the connectors and you tighten the screws. The manual has instructions for this too

@@MarksTechVlogs i mean the fork or rounded type connectors on your doorbell, I guess you need some kind of crimper to do that.
